Here are some of the benefits of using a fixed hook:
- Direct connection: A fixed hook provides a direct connection between the rider and the kite, which can improve performance and feel.
- Reduced fatigue: A fixed hook can help to reduce fatigue by distributing the weight of the kite evenly across the rider's body.
- Increased safety: A fixed hook can help to increase safety by preventing the kite from accidentally releasing.
Overall, using a fixed hook can provide several benefits for kiteboarding. If you are looking to improve performance, reduce fatigue, and increase safety, then using a fixed hook is a good option.
Here are some tips for choosing a fixed hook:
- Consider your skill level: If you are a beginner, you may want to choose a fixed hook with a larger opening. If you are an experienced rider, you may be able to get away with a smaller hook.
- Consider the type of kite you will be using: If you will be using a large kite, you will need a fixed hook with a large opening. If you will be using a small kite, you may be able to get away with a smaller hook.
- Consider the conditions you will be riding in: If you will be riding in cold water, you may want to choose a fixed hook with a neoprene coating. If you will be riding in warm water, you may be able to get away with a fixed hook with a standard coating.
Once you have considered these factors, you can start shopping for a fixed hook. There are many different brands and models of fixed hooks available, so you should be able to find one that meets your needs.

FORCE TAKEAWAY:
The Force team got the privilege of demoing the 2021 Ride Engine harnesses a couple months before hitting the market and we were all rather impressed by the improvements made to their spreader system. 'The Mystic Killer' we called it. The Mystic Stealth Spreaders changed the game when they offered significantly more support than the standard spreaders that had been around since the start of the sport. Now Ride Engine has a competing spreader bar that compares to the rigidity of the Mystic Stealth system. The Unity system is by far the easiest spreader setup to swap out with just two simple clamps to hold the spreader in place, eliminating any risk of slipping / loosening up during your session. Only being the first generation in Ride Engine's harness evolution, we are certainly excited to see the future improvements to this system.
